There have different drawing die materials, the advantages and disadvantages of them are as follows:

Natural diamond

Advantages: high hardness, good wear resistance ;

Disadvantages:  large brittleness, difficult to process - wire die with a diameter of 1.2mm or less.

Carbide

Advantages: good polishing, low energy consumption

Disadvantages: poor wear resistance, difficult processing - various diameter wire

Polycrystalline synthetic diamond

Advantages: High hardness, good wear resistance

Disadvantages: difficult processing, high cost

CVD coating material

Advantages: high finish, good temperature resistance

Disadvantages: complex process, difficult processing
